Abstract

     60 males from white rat were used divided randomly for three main groups each one of them contained on 20 individuals of animals were treated by (2 , 4 & 6) doses from prostaglandin E1(PGE1).

     Each main group was divided randomly for 4 subgroups each one contained 5 animals. The subgroups treated by solution from 0.9% NaCl and (10µg/kg of body weight , 20 µg/kg of body weight and 30 µg/kg of body weight) from PGE1.

   The weights before and after 24 hours from the last dose of treatment were measured, and also testes of animals were weighted after moved them and the histological sections were prepared for studying the effecting of the prostaglandin E1on the mean spermatogenic cells and Sertoli cells and the percentage of damage and the changeables of mean diameters of seminiferous tubules were compared with control groups.

   The results were:-

   Significant increase (P<0.05) in the weight of animals that treated by 2 in all cocentrations and 4 doses from (10 , 30) µg/kg of body weight from PGE1.

   The significant decrease had occurred in all mean weight of animals that treated by 6 doses The mean of testes weight was decreased significantly (P<0.05) in animals that treated by 6 doses from 10 µg/kg of body weight PGE1.

   The mean of spermatogonia were decreased significantly in groups of animals that treated by 2 , 4 & 6 doses from 10 , (20 , 30) and (10 , 20 , 30) µg/kg of body weight PGE1 in sequences .

   The significant decrease was noticed in mean spermatocytes of all animal’s groups that treated by PGE1 except 2 groups that treated by 2 doses from (10 & 30) µg/kg of body weight PGE1.

   All groups of animals that treated by PGE1 suffered from significant decrease (P<0.05) in mean spermatids except the group that treated by 2 doses from 10 µg/kg of body weight PGE1.

   Significant decrease (P<0.05) happened in mean Sertoli cells of animal’s groups that treated by 2 , 4 and 6 doses from 20 , 10 and (20 , 30) µg/kg of body weight PGE1 in sequences.

   Some time significant increase and another time significant decrease had occurred in mean diameter of seminiferous tubules depend on doses and concentrations.

   The means percentage of seminiferous tubules that damaged increased significantly (P<0.05) in all animals that treated by PGE1 depend on doses and concentrations .

     Different changeable of histopatholgical were found in testes of anomals depend on doses and concentrations of PGE1.

   The aim of this study was to discover the effects and changes of testes tissue that caused by PGE1 on spermatogenesis in adult white male rats.
