Abstract

 

Human development skills necessary for the students of the Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences – University of Karbala from the point of view

 

The current research aims to identify the skills of human development necessary for the students of the Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences – University of Karbala, in their point of view, then arranging these skills according to their importance from the viewpoint of subjects of the research sample, and find out statistical significance differences of the skill levels of human development, according to the sex variable (males – females), as well as to identify the statistical significance   differences in the level of human development skills necessary depending on the variable of different classes in the Department of History.

To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher used the descriptive approach (survey), the research community included all students in the Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Karbala morning study, totaling 300 students, where as the sample included (175) students from students study the morning study only for the academic year (2013-2014)

In order to determine, human development skills resources necessary for students of the history department The researche prepared a search tool which is about ( questionnaire ), after knowing the training portfolio and vocabulary training courses for the skills of human development, as well as participate in a large number of those courses and training programs of development, as well as Reading studies and previous literature that dealt with the skills of human development, and

 

to check the validity of the tool and psychometric characteristics of the scale, the researcher extracted face validity through exposing it to a group of experts (17 ones) and extracted relcability utilizing splithalf method using the Pearson correlation coefficient then corrected it by using the equation Spearman Brown as well as stability was calculated using the equation Alpha Cronbach, The find form of thescale consisted of (88) skills distributed in to (6) fields.

The researcher used several statistical methods appropriate to the goals of her research, All the statistical operations using statistical software (Spss.) program and Excel (2010)

. After analyzing the data results showed the following :

1 – The field of time management skills, which weighed percentile (80.76) won the first grade for six areas of the questionnaire, and this shows the students’ awareness of the importance of time and the need to acquire the skills of his administration effectively.

2 – The development of human skills that got the weight percentage of more than (90) were two skills .

3 – the skills of human development, which was weighing between (80-90)   (41) skill

. 4 – the skills of human development, which was weighing between (70-80)   percentage were   (47) skills.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Based on the study have exceeded the results of the researcher recommended a number of recommendations

1-Include human development skill in the curricula of the   Department of History Karbala University..

2- Build developmental programs equipped with comprehensive training portfolio on human development and its skills. .

3- open training centers for Human Development at the University of Karbala and rehabilitation of all training requirements..

4- open intensive training courses for students in the skills of human development in order to let the acquire these skills ..

5- support libraries at the universitywith books and a variety of sources for human development.

 

The researcher has proposed a set of proposals including:

1 – Conduct experimental   studies for each area of ​​human development alone to get to know its impact on the level of educational achievement   for students.

2 – Conduct surveys to identify the extent of the contribution of teachers to instill in students the skills of human development.

3 – Conduct studies aimed at developing the skills of human development among students using the strategies and catain  teaching methods.
