Abstract
Rhetoricians during the 7th century A.H. gathered the features of many trends like the literary trend represented by Ibn Al-Atheer 637 A.H., the Mutazilite trend represented by Al-Razzi 606 A.H. and Al-Sakkaki 626 A.H., and the Psychological trend represented by Hazim the Carthaginian 684 A.H. which made the rhetorical curricula comprehensive where they handled the creativity process and the methods of structuring the text according to the bases and stylistic principles.
The plan of this research is divided into an introduction and four chapters and a conclusion. The introduction discusses the notion of the text between the old Arabic studies and the modern Arabic and Western studies.
Chapter one which is entitled” Structural Treatments” bifurcates into two sections; the first is “ general structural conditions/ condition of rhetoric and eloquence” and the second is “ initiation, liberation and termination”, “ citation and speculation”.
Chapter two which is entitled “ cognitive and mental tools and their impact on the text structure” which in turn divides into three sections: the first is “ reason” the second is “ passion”, and the third is “ imagination” respectively.
Chapter three “ the aesthetics of the text” has two sections: the first is “ pleasure and gratification” and the second is “ utility and benefit”.
Chapter four is entitled “ the levels of text structure” which falls into three sections: the first is the “ phonetic level”, the second is “ the structural level”, and the third is “ the pictorial level”.
