Abstract

          This research which is entitled Meaningful Articles in Al-Sahefa Al-Sajadiya: An Emperical Grammatical Study studies articles and their significance in the Arabic parol; the article is the third constituent of the noun and the verb. The study tackles Al-Sahefa Al-Sajadiya of Imam Ali Bin Al-Hussein Al-Sajjad (peace be upon them), for it appeared during a period of eloquence, as the Imam passed away in the year 95 H. Al-Sahefa Al-Sajadiya was described by scholars as “the Bible of Muhammed’s Household”, “the Sister of the Quran”, and the Psalms of Muhammed’s Household. Scholars have interpreted it and there are 47 commentaries, as it contains rich stylistics and linguistic performance.

There are new meanings for the articles which were nor mentioned by grammarians but were explained by interpreters, the Imam mentioned them in prayers like: the sentences that contain (إن) used for the meaning of reduction, which was frequently used in the Imam’s prayers. The research have also revealed its introduction to definite nouns like the pronouns such as the (ك).

          Another result reached by the research is the expansion in the meanings of (من) to include a new meaning which is the beginning of purpose in time.

          It is noteworthy to mention that the study recommends the importance of using this linguistic achievement (Al-Sahefa Al-Sajadiya) as a source of citation of its semantic revelations in the corpus of the language.
